Tous mes souvenirs sont des images, d’une manière ou d’une autre. Trop souvent, je les trouve très incomplètes, ou totalement déficientes, comme des étincelles vives, mais sans contours et sans forme. Alors que justement, ça attend quand même un peu qu’on en fasse quelque chose…

Many months ago I decided to work on a book to accompany the exhibitions of the “Arrow of Time” series. This dummy was made to be reproduced every few months in a unique copy and new version, without official publication and as perpetual work in progress.

Alexandra Schüssler and Joerg Bader chose to show the 4 existing versions of this book as part of the OSMOSCOSMOS exhibition project.

June 18th to August 25th , 2019.

Il y a plusieurs mois j’ai décidé de travailler à la création d’un livre pour accompagner l’exposition de la série ”La flèche du temps”. Cette maquette à été conçue dès le départ pour être rééditée en une version différente et un exemplaire unique tous les trois ou quatre mois, sans jamais être proposée à la publication, toujours comme un travail en cours.

Alexandra Schüssler et Joerg Bader ont choisi de montrer les quatre versions existantes de ce livre lors de l’exposition OSMOSCOSMOS.

In 2019 the Pully Museum of Art will celebrate its 70th birthday, having first opened its doors to the public in 1949. For this occasion, in parallel with the exhibition dedicated to Jacques Berger, the Museum will present a special exhibition dedicated to the acquisitions made by the Museum over the course of the last ten years, in addition to submissions by artists who were invited to take part.

As part of this, the video which is a feature of my project "La flèche du Temps" ("The arrow of Time") will be shown.

2019 marquera l'anniversaire des 70 ans du Musée d’art de Pully, qui a ouvert ses portes au public en 1949. A cette occasion, en parallèle de la rétrospective consacrée à Jaques Berger, le Musée présentera une exposition-dossier consacrée à la fois aux acquisitions faites par le Musée au cours des dix dernières années et à des propositions d'artistes invités pour l'occasion.

Dans ce cadre, la vidéo faisant partie de mon projet “La flèche du Temps” sera exposée.

Almost exactly 10 years ago, the financial institution Lehman Brothers was going down, starting the financial crisis of 2008. In 2013 my Trades series was trying to seize some aspects of the intensity and mystery of the trading activity on the bank’s shares on the New York stock exchange while it was plummeting.

Part of the Trades series’s lightboxes will be exhibited in Lianzhou foto festival as 2018 comes to an end.

Il y a presque exactement 10 ans, l’institution financière Lehman Brothers s’écroulait sur les marchés, sonnant les débuts de la crise financière de 2008. En 2013 ma série Trades tentait de saisir un peu de l’intensité et du mystère de l’activité des marchés financiers sur le titre de la banque Lehman Brothers alors qu’il plongeait.

Une partie des caissons lumineux de la série Trades sera exposée au festival Lianzhou foto alors que l’année 2018 se termine.

La Flèche Du Temps (The Arrow of Time), is an abstract tale at the crossing of three stories : the fall of a centenary pine tree, an banal archaeological discovery, and the scheduled ending of a space mission.

This exhibition at Galerie Heinzer Reszler will be the first public exhibition of this new series.

Opening : September 6th, 18:00

La flèche du temps est un conte abstrait au croisement de trois histoires : la chute d'un pin centenaire, une découverte archéologique sans importance, et la fin programmée d'une mission spatiale.

Cette exposiiton à la Galerie Heinzer Reszler sera la première apparition publique de ce récent travail.

L’affirmation vous êtes ici évoque la singularité d’un lieu. Elle peut être perçue comme un ancrage géographique, territorial, voire culturel. Mais aussi comme un repère. Sur une carte, le point rouge l’accompagnant nous évite de nous perdre (ou de nous chercher).
Elle suggère aussi une forme d’équilibre: on peut par exemple penser au fameux hic et nunc, ici et maintenant. L’exposition Vous êtes ici propose de s’interroger sur la perception intime et imaginée de cette formule.

I have been invited to exhibit the Transform series at the FIAF / French Institute Alliance Française during the "Crossing the line" festival.

"Created from photos of French hydroelectric facilities and the Fessenheim nuclear power plant in Alsace, the origins of the images in this exhibition are undoubtedly visible. But they also reflect other interventions; with superimposed layers, Bernard-Reymond has mutated his industrial landscapes into troubling poetic compositions."

Des Mondes Possibles - Artothèque de Grenoble

À la bibliothèque Kateb Yacine l'Artothèque de Grenoble permet d'emprunter des œuvres pour les accrocher chez soi. Plus de 150 photographes y sont notamment représentés. Au total, plus de 1500 œuvres sont à la disposition du public.

Du 19 janvier au 5 mars 2016 quelques unes de mes œuvres seront visibles dans l'espace d'exposition de l'Artothèque.

The first installment of Transform was created from images shot by Mathieu Bernard-Reymond in french nuclear and hydraulic facilities along the Rhein.
Slowly evolving from traditional architectural and documentary views to intriguing abstractions, those images are definitely deeply linked to photography, but also to painting and infographics.
Those various layers are literally superimposed in a very particular hanging.

Exposition du 21 janvier au 5 mars 2016

Le premier volet de Transform à été créé à partir d’images réalisées par Mathieu Bernard-Reymond dans les centrales hydrauliques et nucléaires françaises réparties le long du Rhin.

Les notions de production et de transformation dictent à la fois le fonctionnement des lieux photographiés et le processus de création des images. Les prises de vue effectuées sur place ont fait l’objet de plusieurs mutations, passant de vues architecturales documentaires à des clichés restructurés en postproduction, pour enfin se muer en images abstraites. À cet ultime stade de leur évolution, l’origine photographique des images ne fait pas de doute, mais leur nature exacte est aussi à rapprocher d’un mélange des domaines pictural et informatique. Ces espaces industriels toujours mystérieux pour le public quittent les mains de l’auteur sous la forme d’œuvres à la poétique troublante, où apparaissent ponctuellement des éléments figuratifs identifiables.
L’exposition à ceci d’original qu’elle donne à voir ces différents stades de création dans un accrochage où ils se superposent.

"Image Électrique", exposition collective La Chambre, Strasbourg.

[[New works about the electricity production facilities along the Rhine river will be visible at La Chambre art center this month.
This is a collective commissioned exhibition featuring images by Léo Delafontaine and Thomas Jorion and mines.  Pictures were taken in a number of different production sites, including Fessenheim nuclear site and the gorgeous Kembs plant.
